FAQ About Hair Transplant

Will there be a scar after Hair Transplantation?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions by hair transplant patients. Following the recommendations given by experts and following the data after the operation is one of the most important factors in the success of the hair transplantation process. The post-operative process is partially long. The patient should listen to the advice given after the operation and should know that the changes he/she sees are part of a normal process. Since there is no cutting process during hair transplantation, there is no scarring.

How to wash after Hair Transplantation?

The first week is very important for hair transplantation. The bandage is removed one day after transplantation. In the following period, hot water and sun should be avoided. Three days after transplantation, hair can be washed with a hat recommended by the doctor. Smoking and alcohol should be avoided and tea and coffee should be consumed in minimum amounts. Heavy physical activities and stress should be avoided. Care should be taken to wash with massage to support the removal of dead skin. A small amount of hair loss in this period is a normal process called “shock hair loss”. This normal process can last from two to four months. Regular hair growth is observed afterwards.

Does the transplanted hair fall out?

It is expected that small amounts of hair loss will occur from the tenth day after hair transplantation. Hair loss and hair growth occur at certain time intervals. The hair that falls out is actually unhealthy or previously remaining hair. In order for stronger and more durable hair to grow, these weak hairs must be shed. People who experience hair loss after hair transplantation should know that this situation is normal and should not panic. Doctor controls should not be interrupted and should be provided regularly.
